Silently I walk through the darkness, 
Searching for the light 
In deep despair I've lost all hope, 
I see no end in sight. 

Desperately I reach to find you there, 
A fleeting moment to catch your hand 
Cold and unyielding you pull away, 
And once again, alone I stand. 

Crying out in anguish, I need you so.. 
But our love was not meant to be. 
Not in this place nor of this time, 
A cruel joke was played on me. 

For once I was filled with happiness, 
Of finding one I thought faithful and true... 
But now rainbows are gone and fantasies faded, 
And I stand alone without you.
